Liverpool’s season is now slowly going from bad to worse. The Reds have now lost half of their 12 games in the Premier League and manager Brendan Rodgers after the 3-1 defeat to Crystal Palace admitted that his job was on the line. Rodgers however needs to rally his troops ahead of the busy Christsmas period going into the new-year. The upcoming January transfer window though will give the Reds managers another chance to strengthen his squad.
If reports from English Media Outlet DAILY STAR are set to be believed, the Merseyside giants are plotting a £10m move for Norwich City winger Nathan Redmond. Rodgers believes that the tricky winger can help Liverpool to rescue their season. Southampton are also in the race for the young English International.
It is believed that the Canaries rejected a £5m offer from Southampton for Redmond in the summer but the Saints are determined to sign the player in the upcoming winter transfer market. Norwich are also determined to keep hold of their prized asset but it would be very hard for them if either of the Premier League giants comes calling. They also fear that they will lose Redmond, with the top-flight clubs ready to offer him a lot more than the £18,000-a-week he earns in the Championship at Carrow Road.
Redmond is an exceptionally pacy winger, a tricky customer to deal with and who can run at the defense with the ball. He would no doubt fit in Southampton’s plans easily and given the fact that Liverpool are really struggling and summer signings yet to gel, Redmond could reject a move to Merseyside. So will he move to St Mary’s? Onlt time shall provide an apt answer.
