Since Jurgen Klopp took over the Anfield outfit, it has been a common theme all around the papers that the German is not playing with a squad that suits his style.
This leaves the club with an important summer at the end of this season as the manager is expected to make a number of changes to the squad before he can actually challenge for silverware next season.
A lot of top class European talents have been linked to a move to Anfield this summer but Klopp has a peculiar ability of finding talented players from lesser known teams. And it seems as if he has found one to bring to Anfield next summer.
Berlin Kurier reported that Jurgen Klopp is keen on brining USA international Bobby Wood to Liverpool for the next season.
The 23-year-old is currently playing for German second division side Union Berlin and has caught the attention of the Reds following an impressive performance this season.
USA face Guatemala in an international friendly this week and it is understood that the Anfield outfit has scouts sent over to watch the forward in action.
He has been in fine form this season and has been a handy player for his country and has scored 14 goals in 26 appearances in all competitions this season.
He is a quick footed player who is dynamic and can also play on the wing. He has the constant ability to find the back of the net and is also strong in the air.
Liverpool will most probably part ways with Christian Benteke and on-loan forward Mario Balotelli this summer. And with recent reports linking fan favorite Daniel Sturridge with a lucrative offer from PSG, Wood becomes a very useful player to add to this Liverpool squad.
Damir Kreilach, Wood’s team mate praised the 23-year old and revealed that it was not a surprise to see top European clubs make a move for him this summer.
“When you’re playing well and making many goals then other teams notice and you get offers,” he said.
With the business end of the tournament almost upon us, plans for the next season are already on paper and if reports are to be believed, the Anfield outfit have stepped up the chase for the 23-year old.
Do you think Bobby Wood will have a future at Anfield?
