Inter Milan star Xherdan Shaqiri has completed his medical ahead of a £12million move to Stoke City, according to reports from the Telegraph.
Shaqiri has been heavily linked with a move away from the San Siro in recent weeks, despite only joining from Bayern Munich in the January transfer window.
And the Potters are close to securing the £12million deal, which would make the Switzerland international the club’s most expensive ever signing.
The former Bayern man was spotted on the stands during Stoke City’s 0-1 defeat to Liverpool on Sunday.
Stoke manager Mark Hughes is hopeful that the move will be completed within the next 48 hours, which would allow him to include the 23-year-old in the squad ahead of their trip to White Hart Lane to face Tottenham Hotspur this weekend.
It was earlier believed that a deal would not be completed after Shaqiri delayed his response to Stoke’ deadline regarding personal terms, however after the Potters failed to sign primary target Yehven Konoplyanka, Stoke revived the deal for the former Basel winger last week.
Shaqiri, who was also a target for Liverpool, played 35 games in all competitions last season, scoring five goals.
