According to latest reports, Liverpool are ahead of Manchester United in the race to sign Real Madrid right-back Dani Carvajal. The Reds are in need of a world-class right-back after letting go Glen Johnson this summer as a free agent.

The future of Carvajal remains uncertain as Real Madrid signed FC Porto’s right-back Danilo for £23m earlier. The player seems to be unsettled at the moment at Bernabeu and Liverpool wants to take advantage of the situation and sign the talented right-back.

The reds are currently using Emre Can as a right-back with a serious injury to Jon Flanagan which his see him out of action till the end of 2015. Emre Can is a right midfielder who can play in Central midfield too. The player is playing out of position for the team’s needs and Brendan Rodgers needs to find a solution for right-back position.

Dani Carvajal is drawing interest from various clubs but Liverpool are considered favorites above Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich for the player’s signature. A bid around £25m would be enough to lure the player away from Bernabeu this summer.
