As per the latest reports form Express, Liverpool are keen to sign out of favour City striker Stevan Jovetic this summer. The 25-year old is behind Aguero and Dzeko in City strikers’ pecking order and a new signing of Wilfred Bony last January made thimgs more complex for the player.
Jovetic, who moved to Etihad in 2013 from Italian outfit Florentina, has only made 30 appearences for the Citizens in all competitions in last two seasons. The Montenegrin international wants to move away from Etihad this summer as he is seeking first team action.
The player is heavily linked to a move back to Italy with the likes of Roma and Inter Milan intersted in his services. However, Liverpool have made contact with the player suggests the report.
The Reds are in the market to sign a quality striker this summer despite signing both Danny Ings and Roberto Firmino this summer. Liverpool are keen to provide a life line to Jovetic to prove his worth in Premier League.
The Reds have made an offical bid for the player back in May claims Italian newspaper Gazetta dello Sport which was worth £16.5m but Manchester City rejected the offer as they are looking for a bigger offer to let the player go.
Jovetic is frustrated at his role at the club as he is being used as a late substitute or when the likes of Aguero and Dzeko are rested for bigger games.
