According to O Jogo, Brendan Rodgers has identified Marcos Rojo as a left-back target if Liverpool fail to sign Alberto Moreno from Sevilla.

According to reports, Sporting own only 25% of Marco Rojo’s right and are not ready to sell him. They will only sell him after the World Cup as they feel his performances might increase his price. Manchester United and Arsenal are also looking to sign the Argentine international.

Liverpool are already in talks to sign Alberto Moreno from Sevilla, but the talks are dragging on without any outcome. The Reds have already tabled a £16m bid. Sevilla have set an asking price of £20 million for Moreno, but the Merseyside club feel that’s too much and have started looking elsewhere.

Liverpool conceded 50 goals last season more than any other side in the top 5 of the Premier League and Rodgers will surely be looking to strengthen his defence. Moreno, 21, is on Liverpool’s radar after an impressive season with Sevilla. The Spain international was part of Sevilla’s Europa League winning side. Rodgers wants Moreno to replace Aly Cissokho, after deciding not to sign him permanently. Moreno has a release clause of £25m.

According to Liverpool Echo, its highly unlikely Liverpool will bid for Ricardo Rodriguez, the Switzerland left back, as he would cost around £30m. Ryan Bertand of Chelsea is also an alternative.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are close to signing Dele Alli from MK Dons in a £3m deal. Liverpool will also make a third attempt to sign Adam Lallana from Southampton after the World Cup in Brazil.
