Liverpool transfer round-up: 2 out; 1 new link and 1 big blow

Jurgen Klopp has been a busy man this summer as he is trying his best to add some of the best players in Europe to his squad ahead of the next season.

The squad was a bit short in some positions last season and the manager is trying his best to improve the squad as a whole to help him have a better shot the domestic competitions in England.

Though the club has already managed to complete most of their summer business already, the manager is still looking for players who can fill in certain positions in the squad next season.

The amount of quality around the domestic league is huge and the Reds need their best XI to play every week to have any chance of success next season. So with just 10 days left for the start of the new season, let’s take a look at all the stories around Anfield today:

Balotelli to Napoli/Ajax:

In what can be termed as good news for the Reds, Italian striker Mario Balotelli, who has not been able to impress in his stint in England with Liverpool is on the radar of top European clubs.

The likes of Napoli and Ajax are reportedly interested in taking him away from England and Liverpool are also understood to be desperate to offload him this summer. His 20 appearances at AC Milan last season were not enough for him to attract clubs so far but a move to Napoli or Ajax can easily resurrect the Italian’s career next season.

Spanish media outlet Fichajes claim the maverick forward has offers on the table from the two clubs and that it is just a matter of the player agreeing a deal with either of the club in the coming days.

Lazar Markovic to Roma/Fiorentina:

Liverpool’s young Serbian winger Lazar Markovic seems to be a part of Klopp’s exodus at Liverpool. Though impressive initially, Markovic has not been able to cement a place at Anfield in his first season and was off on loan to Fernabache last campaign.

However, he is back at Anfield now and has been a part of the pre-season games for the club but has not been able to impress the new manager who is happy to let him leave this summer. And it is understood that the likes of Roma, Fiorentina, Viola, and Sporting are all interested in his signature this summer.

He may yet again be out on a load deal but Klopp is said to be happy to see him leave on a permanent transfer.

Ben Chilwell signs Leicester City contract:

In what will come as a blow for the Reds, Liverpool’s top transfer target for the left-back position, Leicester City’s Ben Chilwell has now reportedly signed a new contract with the Premier League champions.

Liverpool are in search of a left back after Alberto Moreno has failed to impress in the last season as a whole. Klopp identified Chilwell as a possible replacement and made a couple of bids for him before he decided to put pen to paper at Leicester City.

It is also revealed that Klopp will now look to use James Milner as a makeshift left-back when needed having failed to land a top-quality replacement for Alberto Moreno.

Jese Rodriguez:

The Real Madrid star now seems to be completely out of favor at Real Madrid having recently been linked with a move away from the Spanish capital.

Zinedine Zidane was recently asked about the Spaniard’s situation at the club and he said, If he wants to leave to play more, I don’t know.” Though these comments don’t make Jese available this summer, it is understood that Liverpool and Arsenal, two suitors for the player will be hoping to get their hands on the attacker.

He is just 23 and has loads of potential and is absolutely right in trying to move away from the Spanish giants in search of regular football.
