Liverpool transfer round-up: 2 new links;1 out; 1 big blow and 1 huge story

Jurgen Klopp has been a busy man this summer with the club needing a number of additions to suit his style of play for the next season.

The likes of Sadio Mane, Marko Grujic, Georginio Wijnaldum, Joel Matip and Loris Karius are all expected to make it into the first team next season as the manager stamps his authority on the squad.

However, there are plenty of other positions within the squad that need to be strengthened and plenty of players that need to be sold, so club has been busy even as the squad is on their friendly pre-season tour to the US.

They are all set to face Milan on Saturday (early morning n Sunday) and will make sure that they address all their issues in the squad before they play their next game in a few days time.

And with hardly 2 weeks left for the new season to begin, the club may get deals done in a hurry. So here are all the stories that are revolving around the club on the day:

Karius

Loris Karius out for 10 weeks:

The German shot-stopper who made a move to Liverpool early in the transfer window rejected a chance to travel to the Olympics and stayed with the club for its pre-season tour.

He was all set to be the first choice goalkeeper next season replacing Simon Mignolet but the German has now injured himself and is out for upto 10 weeks. In the game against Chelsea, he and Dejan Lovren were involved in a clash that is reported as the reason for the injury and it is revealed that he will have to undergo a surgery in the coming days.

Simon Mignolet is now expected to start for the Reds against Arsenal for the first game of the season while Alex Manninger will be his deputy on the bench.

Jese Rodriguez favors an Anfield move:

The Spanish attacker has fallen down in the pecking order at Real Madrid with Alvaro Morata expected to play the second fiddle to the attacking trio of Gareth Bale, Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema next season.

And it is revealed that the manager has asked him to be look out for clubs who are interested in signing him. It is also revealed that the likes of Arsenal and PSG are also vying for his signature but it is revealed that the player is favoring a move to Liverpool because of a greater chance of finding a first team spot.

However, Klopp is not really in search of an attacker this summer and it is to be seen if he makes a move for the Spaniard.

Andre Ayew now on Klopp’s radar:

West Ham United’s top transfer target Andre Ayew is reportedly attracting interest from the Red of Merseyside.

The Swansea attacker who moved to England at that start of the last season was one of the most impressive transfers as he managed to score and create chances consistently for the Liberty outfit. It is understood that Klopp has identified him as a perfect fit for his style and is looking to price him away from West Ham.

However, it was officially revealed that there was not bid for the striker who is currently training with the Swans.

Lucas Leiva on his way to Galatasaray:

Liverpool’s longest serving player in the current squad, Lucas Leiva, is close to a move away from the club this summer.

The Brazilian international as one of the best players in his position and his numbers were next just to the Premier League champion N’Golo Kante. He was superb in the first half of the season but lost his place after an injury. However, he came back to impress in a center back position but with Klopp looking at other players for his position, it is now understood that he may be on his way.

Turkish outfit Galatasaray are reportedly happy to hand him a contract this summer and it is revealed that a deal has already been agreed between the two parties in principle and that a deal will be announced in the coming days.

Jonas Hector to make a move in the coming days?

Liverpool’s search of a left-back has not really yielded a positive outcome but in the story of the day for the Reds, Liverpool are linked with a move for German international Jonas Hector.

The German international has been impressive in his stint with FC Koln in the Bundesliga and was also impressive in his time with the German national team in the EUROs in France. Liverpool are long term admirers of the player and it is revealed now that the player is happy to make a move and work with a fellow German in Jurgen Klopp.

It is also revealed that the Bundesliga outfit are ready to sell and that if the English club are ready t meet his £22.5m valuation, they can get their man. It is understood that Liverpool are ready to make a bid and finish the deal in the coming days.
