Liverpool Transfer Roundup: 2 Big Blows; 2 New Stories and 1 Huge Update

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool set up a home tie against Wolverhampton in the 4th round of the FA Cup after picking up a 1-0 victory over Plymouth in the previous round recently.

The Reds are currently 7 points off Chelsea at the top of the table and the manager will hope that his side can kick-start a winning run that can get them closer to Antonio Conte’s side.

The manager has also been looking at possible replacements in the January transfer window after letting a couple of players leave and this has seen Liverpool linked with a number of top class names recently.

Here are all such transfer rumours coming out of Anfield today:

No Aubameyang for Liverpool:

The Borussia Dortmund man is one of the most prolific goal scorers in Europe at the moment and he is looking to exit the Bundesliga at the end of the season.

A number of clubs are interested in his signature including the likes of Bayern Munich and Liverpool but the Gabon striker today ruled out a move to any of those clubs. “I don’t think that’ll happen,” he said when asked about a potential switch to Anfield. (ESPN)

Puel dismisses Sakho link:

The French defender is out of favour at Anfield after Jurgen Klopp decided to freeze him from the first team for his antics in the pre-season tour.

Sakho has finally accepted his fate and is ready to move on and Liverpool are ready to listen to offers of around the £20m mark this month for their star. Claude Puel’s Southampton were interested in his signature on a loan but the manager has today squashed all such stories leaving Sakho in a limbo. (team talk)

Barcelona wants Liverpool target:

The Reds are desperate for some midfield additions in the summer and have been monitoring the situation of German midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud for a while now.

The Borussia Monchengladbach star is up for sale at the end of the season and Liverpool are expected to make a move for him in the summer but they now face stiff competition from Spanish giants Barcelona, Italian giants Juventus and AC Milan for his signature with all clubs ready to meet his valuation. Lucas could still leave:

The Brazil midfielder is not the first choice at Anfield this season but he is the most experienced player in the squad and Klopp is reluctant to let him go.

He has blocked a move to Galatasaray not long ago and is set to do the same for Brazil outfit Atletico Mineiro who are interested in his signature this month. However, Lucas is not really happy with his situation at the club and may yet manufacture a move away from the Anfield before the deadline day. (Daily Mail)

Liverpool close in on Bailey:

The Reds are desperate for attacking additions this January and have been looking at young and established players for a move this month.

They have recently been extensively linked with a move for Genk winger Leon Bailey who is expected to cost around the £10m mark this January. AS Roma, Bayer Leverkusen and Chelsea are also interested but Liverpool are close to landing him this month. (Echo)
