Anfield has once again been a bust even as the squad is busy preparing for their pre-season adventure in the United States.

Jurgen Klopp, the manager of the side has already added a number of players to his squad but is still looking at top class talent to improve the depth in his squad that has seen him linked with a number of players. So let’s take a look at all the stories surrounding the reds on the day:

To start off with, Liverpool have finally completed the transfer of Georginio Wijnaldum from Newcastle United with only a medical between the player putting on the club’s colors.

A £25m deal has been agreed between the two clubs a guaranteed £23m payment, plus a £1m appearance-related add-on and a final £1m due if Liverpool achieves specified targets. However, an official statement is expected in the hourly hours of Saturday.

This was not the only deal Liverpool completed on the day as 39-year-old Augsburg goalkeeper Alex Manninger completed a free transfer to Klopp’s side on Friday.

The experienced international has played in almost every top league till date and is expected to act as a contingency (a third choice keeper) and is expected to add some experience in the department.

In other news, Klopp is yet again linked with a move for a star Bundesliga player in Schalke’s Max Meyer.

The 20-year old is one of the most impressive players in Germany at the moment and is expected cost the Anfield outfit £28million. Klopp is said to be a long time admirer of the youngster and wants him to move to Liverpool to help next season but it is unsure as to what role he will play at a club that already has a plethora of talent in his position.

In a new link, the Red of Merseyside are now linked with a move for Aston Villa left-back Jordan Amavi.

The 21-year old was impressive in the relegation doomed season for the Villains and is desperate to play in the Premier League next season. Liverpool are in the market for a left-back with current first choice in Alberto Moreno has left a lot desired in the previous season.

He is expected to cost Liverpool €14m and will be a good addition to the squad at Anfield.

Two players who are linked with a move away from the club are Lazar Markovic and Lucas Leiva.

The Serbian winger is on the radar of Bundesliga outfit Schalke who are viewing him as a replacement for Leroy Sane who is on the verge of a move to Manchester City. He has not been able to impress Klopp in the pre-season and is expected to leave this summer.

Lucas Leiva, on the other hand, is attracting interest from Galatasaray who want to take him on a loan deal. The Brazilian was superb last season in a holding midfield role but Klopp has plenty of options in that position and is expected to let the long-serving Red leave this summer.
