Liverpool have accelerated the transfer activities in Premier League and have already completed 6 signings this season even before the transfer window has officially opened. Their latest coup was Southampton’s Nathaniel Clyne who agreed to join Liverpool in a £12.5million move from Southampton.
The young right-back is expected to sign a long-term contract with medical expected to be completed next week. Liverpool, however are not stopping just now and are going all-out to sign their next summer target.
According to Daily Star, Liverpool have submitted a £21.3million bid for Sevilla’s striker Carlos Bacca. The Columbian has been in superb form lately scoring 27 goals last season for Sevilla. Bacca is also linked with a move to Manchester United.
Liverpool have made a habit of stealing Manchester United’s target this summer. Media had strongly linked Roberto Firmino and Nathaniel Clyne with a move to Old Trafford but both the young stars have opted to join Liverpool.
Brendan Rodgers want to sign a prolific and a fit striker who can guarantee him 20-goals a season. Since Suarez’s departure, the Anfield club have struggled to get a goal-scorer in their team but with Bacca’s finishing abilities, Rodgers will have a striker to bank on next season.
How would Liverpool line-up with Carlos Bacca?
Liverpool are expected to go back to a 4-men defense next season with presumably Bacca leading the line sin the initial weeks with Sturridge still not 100% match fit.
Liverpool could go with a 4-3-3 formation with James Milner and Jordan Henderson in the middle with Roberto Firmino, Adam Lallana and Philippe Coutinho playing in behind Carlos Bacca.
