Liverpool’s Title Chances After Embarrassing Defeat To Swansea City!!

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool were frustrated at home this weekend as a struggling Swansea side managed to put three past them at Anfield in a 3-2 victory in the Premier League. This loss keep Liverpool further away from Chelsea at the top of the table and they are now slowly losing ground in the title race.
They have now taken just 2 points from 3 league games this month and are yet to win a league game in the New Year and the Premier League title is slowly becoming a distinct dream.
Chelsea are currently 7 points off Liverpool in the 1st place with a game in hand and the Reds will have to play out of their skins to get anywhere near the title this season.
This loss was their first loss at Anfield for almost an year but this game might well be remembered as the game that ended the hopes of a title for the Redmen this season.
However, one pundit and former player who feels exactly the opposite is Liverpool and Manchester United legend Michael Owen.
The 37-year old who is currently a pundit of the sport with a British media outlet, felt that the Premier League title race is far from over and that the Reds are still in with a chance.
Speaking to BT Sports after the shock defeat at Anfield, Owen said, ‘I don’t think it’s over, it’s a long way back now [though].
The prolific goal scorer has played over 250 games for the Reds in his time at Anfield and knows a few things about the title race.
He felt that the table toppers Chelsea are in a super position to go on an win the title but felt that the number of games that are still left might take their toll on the Blues and might still give Liverpool a shot at the title.
Chelsea are still to travel to Anfield this season and that game could have a long lasting effect on the race to the top and Owen felt the same.
He went on to say, ‘Chelsea are expected to win against Hull, with all due respect to them. But they’ve got to come here [to Anfield] and they’ve still got some tough games to play.”
Though Liverpool are not the only club in the race, with the likes of Tottenham Hotspur also going strong but the Reds, who are without European football might still have a say in the title race.
If Chelsea beat Hull on Sunday, they will be 10 points off Liverpool at the top of the table but Owen felt that it was a deficit that is not that hard to eat into.
‘10 points is a lot but it’s not over just yet,” Owen said, talking about the potential situation for the Reds.
So do you think Liverpool are still in the title race this season?
