French champions Paris St-Germain are planning a sensational move for Real Madrid star striker Karim Benzema.
English daily The Sun claimed that the French outfit will test Real Madrid’s resolve with a £50 million offer for the French international.
The striker was heavily linked with Arsenal last month according to reports in Spanish newspaper El Confidencial. However, nothing concrete materialised and the Gunners signed Lucas Perez instead.
Benzema is currently out with a back injury and has seen his first-team spot at the Bernabeu snatched by new Alvaro Morata, who was bought by the Champions League winners from Juventus this summer. Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has started Morata in all of Madrid’s games this season and the Spain international has already scored one goal in the 2-1 win over Celta Vigo last weekend.
Meanwhile, the French champions have already lost their star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who signed for Manchester United this summer, and their current first-choice striker Edinson Cavani is also linked with a move away from Paris on the deadline day.
According to reports in Italy, Napoli are set to place a mega bid for the former star to replace their top scorer Gonzalo Higuain, who joined Napoli’s Serie A rivals Juventus for a whopping £75 million.
Reports in Corriere Dello Sport claim that PSG manager Unai Emery is willing to sell the Uruguay forward if a move for Benzema materialises. The French striker scored 28 goals in 36 games for the Spanish giants last season.
