Memphis Depay was signed from PSV with a view of becoming an instant hero at Old Trafford. Initial few games did tell us off his obvious ball skills, however, lately it has all been about disappointments and frustrations for the United fans as the Dutch star has failed to deliver in any of the recent matches.

His performance for his national side has also dipped landing him in serious troubles from media and from his club manager. Following the International duty, Memphis was dropped against Everton and Van Gaal explained to us why.

Van Gaal said: “Selection is dependable on the game plan, it is dependable on the qualities of the opponents, which players I want to select for the line-up and also dependable on the defeat of the Dutch team,”

There have been reports of his attitude at the club which isn’t very positive. Van Gaal confirmed that Giggs has had a word with the youngster and explained him what it takes at Manchester United to be a success.

Van Gaal said: “Ryan has already given advice to him but the player is responsible for his own deeds,” added the manager.
