Two points behind Current leader Manchester City, third-placed van Gaal’s Manchester United had enough time to recover from their shocking loss to Arsenal ahead of their trip to Goodison Park to play Everton who are in seventh place, on Saturday.
Two weeks ago United were stunned by the 3-0 loss to Arsenal. Then came the much-needed break to regroup as Premier league took a break to make way for the international fixtures.
Manchester United have a tough team to deal with this weekend. Everton had held rivals Liverpool in the 8th game week as they came back from behind. Roberto Martinez’s Everton will most definitely be a very tough nut to crack for Louis van Gaal’s men.
As Manchester United take on the Toffees this weekend, Louis van Gaal addressed the media in a pre-match press conference.
The Dutch manager said: “Rooney & Carrick are fit to face Everton despite missing England games during the international break.”
About last week’s defeat against Arsenal LVG said: “We’ve spoken about this. It cannot happen again.
“We want to be the champions, so we must behave like champions. You have to improve every time.”
Van Gaal also confirmed that Ashley Young is injured and will miss the game against Everton on Saturday.
Van Gaal on facing Everton: “I am confident – I have seen the training sessions and the reaction of my players.”
