Mamadou Sakho Speaks About His Situation At Anfield Ahead Of Deadline Day Move

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have lost the plot in the last month as they are knocked out of a couple of cup competitions and also lost some ground at the top of the Premier League points table.

They are currently in the 4th place, 10 points off Chelsea at the top but they have a chance to reduce the deficit this week when they play the Blues at Anfield.

The manager will know that his side has been a bit weak at the back but he has been stubborn and has stopped himself from getting one Mamadou Sakho back into the first team.

The French international was a mainstay at Anfield in the previous season but at the fag end, he was stuck in a controversy that changed his entire career.

The WADA decided to push a ban on the player for the use of a banned substance which subsequently got him removed from the Europa League final against Sevilla for Liverpool last season.

He was also left out of the French national squad that went to the Finals of the EURO16 last year and nothing has gone right ever since for the defender.

He was cleared of all his charges before the start of the season but Sakho did something so bad that Jurgen Klopp decided that he does not belong at Anfield anymore.

The 26-year old and his antics in the pre-season tour to the US saw Jurgen Klopp send him back to Anfield and then decided to freeze him out of the first team. He was up for sale in the summer but Sakho was not ready to leave.

However, nothing has changed from Klopp’s end who believes that Sakho has already played his last game for the club.

The French defender took it to social media on several occasions to vent his anger but for the first time since the start of the season, Sakho opened up about his situation at the club.

Speaking to the media recently, Sakho said that he was sorry for what he did in the US and said that he does not want to get into any more controversy on the subject.

Sakho told Canal Football Club: ‘It is true that I turned up late. There was a rule that I should have observed. I do not at all see myself as above the rules, I respect everyone.

‘I paid my fine, I was sanctioned, I apologised to my team-mates and my manager. Aside from that… I do not want to go into the controversies.

‘I work a lot, I have the chance to train with the reserve team, which allows me to keep up. And besides that, I have my trainer. So I work a lot to stay on top of my game.’

He went on to explain that he is ready for a move back to PSG but felt that he had to wait for the right time before making the move.

He said: ‘Since I started this incredible adventure abroad, in terms of football but also in terms of my family, because when I see my children speaking English I think it is a glorious thing that I have been able to give them. I think I have a few more wonderful years to experience abroad first. And PSG, why not, but afterwards.

Sakho is expected to be sold out of Liverpool by deadline day with Southampton and West Ham ready to move for him.
