According to Guardian, Manchester United and Fenerbahce have agreed on a transfer fee of £4.7million for the sale of star striker Robin Van Persie. Furthermore, it has been confirmed that his medical will take place in England later today.
Italian transfer guru Gianluca Di Marzio, earlier confirmed on his twitter account that Van Persie transfer will indeed happen in coming few days after the clubs have agreed on a transfer fee for the Dutch striker.
To push the transfer at the earliest, Fenerbahce have allowed Van Persie to go through his medical directly from Manchester.
Van Persie’s Old Trafford stay is set to be of 3 years only where he enjoyed 1 outstanding debut season hitting 30 goals and firing United to their 13th Premier League crown, while the last two seasons have been less than satisfactory for the former Arsenal man.
The transfer comes as a huge surprise for the United fans, who were expecting to see the Dutchman come up trumps alongside Wayne Rooney next season. Whereas, he is headed to Turkey where he will be joined by his Man United team mate Nani.
Earlier in the week, Nani made his £4.5million move to Fenerbahce as well.
What now for Manchester United after Van persie’s exit?
Louis Van Gaal has been in Exodus mode this season, cutting players from the squad frequently. Van Persie’s exit has now left the club with Wayne Rooney and James Wilson as the only recognized strikers.
One must expect some renowned striker to walk through the doors of Old Trafford. Players like Harry Kane, Karim Benzema and Alexandre Lacazette have been uttered to be the next striker at Old Trafford.
