Man United renew interest on Kroos with 40 million pounds bid

Manchester United are once again on pursuit for their long term transfer target Toni Kroos. The German midfielder has also been linked with Liverpool and Chelsea during the winter transfer window.

Real Madrid star Kroos like before finds himself as one of the names at the top of United’s summer midfield targets again. Old Trafford hierarchy is willing to place a staggering 40 million pounds, reports Daily Star.

The EPL giants had also lined up a potential move to secure the service of the German sensation from Bayern Munich in 2014, when David Moyes was in charge.

But Moyes was later fired and his replacement Louis van Gaal decided to look elsewhere, so the highly-rated German playmaker moved to Madrid instead.

Now, as van Gaal looks almost certain to leave Old Trafford at the end of this season, Kroos is once again back on the radar.

However, Real Madrid’s reluctance to do any kind of business with Manchester United following the collapse of David de Gea’s move to Bernabeu last summer following  remains one potential stumbling block.

The move also seems a bit unlikely given Kroos’s position in his current team and with the change in the management, the brand of football that is being played gives more freedom to the German to be free and creative. Also its been only one season at the capital, and Kroos’ performances have been above par. With a more innovative manager like Zidane on the sidelines, Kroos is can wow everyone with one of his blinders.

But some reports suggest, Kroos is still finding it hard to settle in Spain, while Real are planning a major squad revamp and the 26 year-old could be one of those players who would be allowed to leave this summer.

Toni Kroos came to Real Madrid in the summer of 2014 for a fee ranging between 25 to 30 million Euros and was hoped to bring his own brand of passes and cutting edge strikes to the foray making Madrid all the more stronger. However, Kroos failed to raise to the occasion for the Whites with him seeming to have run out of creativity which was an inherent part of his game back at home. This season, the 26 year old German international has provided 8 assists in the 25 games he has played in the league scoring just once.

Though, Kroos has had an average season, it’s been potentially devoid of any imagination and innovation. This ‘draining out of fun from football’ situation, has again raised keen interest for the German and EPL giants like Chelsea, Liverpool all started to show their interest while Manchester United looked more determined to sign him.
