Man United Target Harry Kane Signs New Five-Year Contract With Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur have announced that Harry Kane has signed a new contract that will keep him at the club until 2022.

Earlier this month several reports claimed that Tottenham and Kane had put talks on hold last month but the two parties have now come to an agreement over terms on a new deal.

And it means no more speculations, no more rumours. Manchester united fans now have to look for other crazy transfer stories as this latest news clearly states Kane is going nowhere despite linked with a move to the Old Trafford.

The England international becomes the latest player to commit himself to Spurs this season, following those including Eric Dier, Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli, Danny Rose and Kyle Walker as manager Mauricio Pochettino looks to secure the futures of key members of his squad.

“It’s amazing. Everyone knows how much I love this team and what I feel for this club,” Kane told Tottenham’s official Twitter account.

“To sign another contract is a special feeling. We’ve got a great, young squad and the club is moving in the right direction.”

Talks over a new contract for Kane had been going on for several months, with both parties struggling to agree on terms.

Sources said Kane had believed any new deal should reflect his importance to the team, though the club had been reluctant to move the forward among the ranks of their highest earners, with several current first-team members previously having earned more than him.

Kane made his breakthrough for Tottenham during the 2014-15 season, going on to score 31 goals in all competitions for the club, while also making his debut for England.

The striker finished up as the Premier League’s top scorer last season, netting 25 goals, while he has hit six goals for Spurs in 10 appearances this term.

Kane, who made his Tottenham debut in 2011 after rising through the academy, has scored 70 goals in 137 appearances for the club in total, while he currently has 17 England caps and five international goals to his name.
