Louis Van Gaal cleared the news about Carrick signing the new contract at Old Trafford. His vice-captain has extended his contract by one more season with an option of extending it even further next season.
Van Gaal said: “He (Michael Carrick) is for me my second captain behind Wayne Rooney and he can also read the game as a team player so that’s very important.
