The Paris Saint-Germain boss Laurent Blanc’s decides not to start Marquinhos against Manchester City in the quarter final first leg of UEFA Champions League. It looks like he is about to push the 21-year-old defender towards the exit door.
Marquinhos, the Paris Saint-Germain’s versatile defender is thinking of leaving his club. Marquinhos is one of the hottest prospects in today’s’ football world and Barcelona will surely try to lure him.
The 21-year-old Brazilian defender was on the bench for the entire 90 minutes against Manchester City, in which a horrible defensive performance from Laurent Blanc’s side led to a 2-2 draw in the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals last Wednesday. This added more to the dissatisfaction of the young defender.
The Brazil international, 21, was left out and the PSG boss instead played Serge Aurier as the French side drew 2-2 with Manuel Pellegrini’s side due to horrible defending.
Marquinhos has stated before that he has a desire to play in the Premier League with Chelsea and Man City if a possible move happens. But currently, he is looking for a move which will lead him to the Nou Camp.
According to DailyStar, Barcelona have offered a £30m deal and may raise it up to £35m. But PSG are not willing to sell the Brazilian unless he requests for a move.
Marquinhos has been heavily linked with a move to the Catalan giants, and the Catalan club is interested in the player. Barcelona desperately wants to sign the defender in the next transfer window since they do not have any young Centre back who can succeed the likes of Pique, Puyol or Mascherano. Luis Enrique wants a promising young center-back who is good with the ball, to partner alongside Gerard Piqué. Two years back, the Brazilian almost signed for Barcelona but it was PSG who stopped the negotiations. But now, he is not happy and could even look to force an exit if needed.
