Manchester City target Leroy Sane has informed his club Schalke that he wants to leave the club this summer, reports Sky Sports.
The 20-year old is one of the highly rated young talents not only in Germany but also across Europe. The newly appointed Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is reportedly very interested in the player and has urged City management to sign the young winger.
Schalke have valued Sane at £40m but City have so far been unwilling to meet their asking price as the negotiations are still going on.
Pep Guardiola has confirmed the deal and said that the negotiations are currently going but no deal has been reached.
“There’s a difference between City and Schalke and it’s quite big, but I don’t know what’s going to happen in the coming weeks and months,” Guardiola said.
Sane who took part in 2016 Euro Germany National team is one of the best players of Schalke last season as he scored eight goals and assisted six more in Bundesliga making him one of the hot prospects in Germany.
Schalke are also willing to close the deal as soon as possible, as the club need to fins proper replacements for Sane before the transfer window closes.
Schalke’s sporting director, Heidel said: “Like us, Manchester City also must think about itself, as both teams have to take into account the further planning in the transfer market.”
