Manchester City have been in marauding form off-late and the recent results bring great joy to the fans as the club is missing Sergio Aguero and David Silva due to injuries. They were simply un-playable in the mid-week game against Crystal Palace where they put 5 past them. Pellegrini will be happy with where they sit in the Premier League table early in the season.
Norwich City took the Toffees to a penalty shootout in the League but lost the shoot-out and are out of the Cup. Alex Neil will not be happy with his team’s performances in the Premier League as they have not been able to take even a point from the last three League games.
Here is the Preview for this game along with the Team News and expected line-ups. We have also added our predictions and betting odds.
The Manchester City vs Crystal Palace match will be played on Saturday the 31st of October at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester. The kick-off is scheduled at 4:00 pm BST (8:30 pm IST).
Pellegrini has a number of first choice players injured for this game. David Silva and Aguero are still sidelined as already mentioned. Zabaleta is likely to be out for the whole of November. Samir Nasri, Clichy and Fabian Delph are the other players on the injured list for the home team.
The Canaries will miss the services of Dieumerci Mbokani and Andre Wisdom both of whom picked up injuries. Midfielder Youssouf Mulumbu however is back in training and will be available for selection for this game against Manchester City.
City are the table toppers of the Barclays Premier League this season. They have been scoring goals for fun and have been a very good side in attack. They seemed to have balanced their defense with their attacks very well and are looking a team that is hard to beat this season.
However, in their last League game, the Manchester Derby, City failed to create enough chances and were not at their best. They lacked any kind of spark up front and struggled to keep hold of the ball on against their rivals. However the positives out of the game were a clean sheet for Joe Hart away from home which is always a confidence booster.
But in this game against newly promoted side Norwich City, the Citizens will hope to regain their scoring form in the League and will be eyeing all three points at the Etihad. Norwich City will have their work cut out and will have to play extremely well if they want to get a result out of this game.
Alex Neil will be doing his best to get his team up and running come Saturday but City might just prove too huge a mountain to climb.
Hart, Sagna, Kompany, Mangala, Kolarov, Toure, Fernandinho, De Bruyne, Sterling, Bony, Navas.
Ruddy, Martin, Bennett, Bassong, Brady, Redmond, Howson, Tetty, Jarvis, Hoolahan, Mbokani.
Norwich City will have a horrid time trying to defend their goal against a team that has been scoring freely this season. They will surely find it hard to keep up with the pace of passing in the City mid-field and we can expect Pellegrini’s team to take all three points from the game.
Manchester City 3-0 Norwich City
Manchester City: 3/10
