Southampton midfielder Morgan Scheiderlin has insisted that he could move away from the club in the coming days. The 25-year old play maker has confirmed that talks for a potential transfer are happening and the move could be finalised by next week which would be worth around £24million.
The player has drawn interest from the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur as he wants to seek Champions League football at his new club. The Frenchman has been in fine form last season with a string of impressive performances for the Saints.
Schneiderlin who have joined Southampton in 2008 from French outfit Strasbourg and has played for the Saints both in League One and the Championship before Southampton’s return to top flight. The 25-year ols has rejected a new deal which was worth £60,000-a-week to remain at St Mary’s.
The midfielder was back at his old club for a community event and discussed about his future as he expects it to be resolved in the coming days. He said, “The negotiations are ongoing and should be completed in the coming days, hopefully before the resumption of [Southampton’s preseason] training next week.”
The saints have already begun their pursuit to find a replacement for Schneiderlin as they have already shown their interest in Marseille’s £15million-rated Giannelli Imbula.
