Manchester United Eye Cut-Price Deal for Former Chelsea and Arsenal Star Who Decided Not To Play Till The Deadline Day

Manchester United and Jose Mourinho will be relatively happy with the progress of the side in recent times but they will know that they will have to step up their game to get into the top-4 and may be, even fight for silverware.

The manager has been busy looking into the transfer window for some quality additions but he is yet to spend on a player this January.

But with the deadline day coming, Manchester United have been linked with some superstars recently and the latest name going around in the papers today is Lassana Diarra from Marseille.

The 31-year old French international has played for a host of clubs including Arsenal and Real Madrid but he has been at French outfit Marseille since the start of the previous season.

He has just a goal in 25 appearances for the side and is now looking for a way out with the likes of Manchester United linked with a move for him recently.

The midfielder, who has 34 caps for the national side, has now refused to play for the club until the end of the transfer window.

According to a story from the L’Equipe, Diarra has had a talk with the Marseille manager Rudi Garcia and has decided to listen to offers for an exit this January.

The French outfit have today completed a sensational move for one of their former stars Dimitri Payet and are happy to let Diarra leave before the deadline day.

The Red Devils, who sold Morgan Schneiderlin earlier this month are in the market for a midfielder who can add some steel for the business end of the season and Mourinho believes that Diarra’s previous experience in the Premier League can make the difference come the end of the Premier League season.

The 31-year old has some previous experience of playing under Jose Mourinho during his stint at Chelsea almost a decade ago and the Portuguese manager is now free to sign him as Diarra is ready to listen to what United can offer him.

The likes of Marouane Fellaini, Michael Carrick and Ander Herrera have been decent this season but with Manchester United also active in Europe they might need a couple of additions to keep them strong.

They might have to spend big on star player so a cut-price deal for Diarra, who wants to leave, could be a win-win for both parties. Do you think Lassana Diarra is a good option for Manchester United?
