Reports suggest Manchester United have renewed their interest in Bayern Munich ace Bastian Schweinsteiger. The 30-year old currently has only one year left in his contract for Bayern Munich and the Red Devils are eyeing to get him for a cut-price deal.
The German world cup winner’s season has been completely hampered by injuries after the World Cup and Louis van Gaal wants to exploit Bastian Schweinsteiger’s current situation at Allianz Arena.
The 30-year old have put hold on a contract renewal as he recently said, “I am in no hurry to renew. It is not something that bothers me because I have a year left before it expires.
“The important thing is that my physical problems and injuries are resolved. The rest will follow.”
Bayern Munich are looking to revamp their squad with young players as they have many aged players in the likes of Ribery, Robben, Lahm, Schweinsteiger on whom they are over-dependent.
Louis van Gaal wants to add an experienced midfielder to his squad as he looks to add more quality to his defensive midfield. Manchester United are currently depending on Carrick’s fitness. Bastian Schweinsteiger have worked with Louis van Gaal when the Dutch manager coached the Bavarian team back in 2009 and shares a special rellationship with the manager which could let the deal happen.
