Manchester United Player Ratings In 1-1 Draw Against Bournemouth: Check Who Got A 2!

Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United were not able to take advantage of the slip-ups of the other teams around them recently as they managed to take just a point from their game against AFC Bournemouth, at home on Saturday.

Marcos Rojo gave United the lead after 20 minutes but the game was marred by controversy when Bournemouth star Mings stamped Ibrahimovic, who retaliated minutes later by elbowing the defender. Neither incident was noticed by the referee but he did send Andrew Surman off for two bookable offences, giving United an upper hand.

However, Josh King converted from the spot after Phil Jones bought Mark Pugh down and that remained the last goal of the game with both teams sharing a point each. It was the 6th home draw for United while Bournemouth managed to arrest their 4 game losing streak in the league.

Here are the playing ratings for the Red Devils for this game:

David de Gea (7):

Made a couple of superb saves to keep United in the game but could not do much to stop King’s penalty, failing to keep a clean sheet.

Antonio Valencia (7):

A brilliant outlet on the flank till the final whistle, Valencia, was a constant threat for the visitors and also picked up the assist for his side’s goal on the night.

Phil Jones (3):

Started well but slowly faded away after conceding the penalty early in the second half, and became clumsy thereafter.

Marcos Rojo (6):

Was comfortable at the back for most of the game and also scored his first PL goal to give his side a point from this game.

Luke Shaw (6):

Did well in the final third adding some edge to United’s attack and was not really tested at the other end by Eddie Howe’s side on his comeback

Michael Carrick (5):

Played an able role alongside Pogba in the midfield but could not retain it for long and was one of the first players to be subbed off.

Paul Pogba (4):

Wore a casual attitude on the night and was anything but clinical in his passing or finishing on a day to forget for the Frenchman.

Juan Mata (6):

The Spaniard tried his best to help Manchester United break the deadlock but was not able to create enough chance to give his side a victory.

Wayne Rooney (5):

Playing in his 550th appearances for Manchester United, Rooney had very little influence at the start of the game and though he created a couple of half-chances, was never as good enough as required on the night for United.

Anthony Martial (6):

A constant threat for Bournemouth on the flank, Martial was unable to find the final pass, which let his team down on the night.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic (2):

Hardly put a foot right on the night as he had to fall deeper and deeper to get involved. Should have been sent off for the elbow on Mings while also missed a penalty on a day to forget for the 35-year old.

Subs:

Jesse Lingard (5):

Replaced Luke Shaw at left-back but hardly had an effect on the game.

Marcus Rashford (5):

Came in to replace Wayne Rooney but failed to have any kind of an impact in the final third late in the game.

Marouane Fellaini (5):

Bought in to relieve Carrick of his duties in the midfield but this slowed United down, which saw them fail to break the deadlock on the night.
