The summer transfer window provides great opportunities for top clubs to attract world class talent to their squad and one of the hottest stars in world football at the moment, Pierre Emerick Aubameyang seems to be attracting a lot of interests from a number of EPL clubs.
Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is surely not going to stay at the helm of the club after the end of the season and it is understood that the Old Trafford franchise are set to lure the Borussia Dortmund striker Aubameyang to England this summer.
The Red Devils are lacking any kind of firepower as was clear in the loss to FC Midtjylland last mid-week and The Independent revealed that they are interested in bringing the 26 year old to Old Trafford before the start of the next season.
Aubameyang, who is priced at 60 million has been in red hot form this season scoring 31 goals in 34 appearances in all competitions and also won the African footballer of the year award just edging past Yaya Toure of Manchester City.
With all the form in the world, Aubameyang has become one of the hottest properties in football and has been on the wish list even for the likes of Arsenal but Manchester United who will have a complete overhaul this summer are likely to make the first move for the Gabon international.
Manchester United have previously shown reluctance to sign African players owing to the prospect of losing their services for up to six weeks every two years to African Cup of Nations commitments, the club is now ready to widen its net to ensure every possible target is considered.
Irrespective of the future of Louis van Gaal at the club, United are going to pursue a move for the striker with the club accepting the need to progress in the right direction.
The Old Trafford club are known to lay ground works even before the end of the season in landing players like Luke Shaw and Herrera. Although the final decision is taken by the manager, chief scout Jim Lawlor has been left to press ahead with plans to identify summer signings.
Manchester United are seriously low on forwards in the squad at the moment. Skipper Wayne Rooney picked up an injury and is out for six weeks while Robin van Persie, Hernandez and Falcao were all released by Van Gaal who now finds himself in a tough spot with Martial as the only real goal scorer for atleast a month.
Do you think Manchester United will be a good place to move to for Aubameyang?
