Robin van Persie has cut a sorry figure at Old Trafford ever since Sir Alex Ferguson gave up his managerial reign at Manchester United. The Dutchman struggled under David Moyes last season and has just scored 3 goals in 9 matches this season. Van Persie did have an amazing World Cup, the flying header against Spain being the talking point from a great campaign for the Dutch. However, in reality the 31 year old has struggles to reach his peak fitness levels ever since.

According to reports from English tabloid London Evening Standard, United are now prepared to sell the former Arsenal striker in the summer. The reason being that the Red Devils are reluctant to pay an additional of £10m in loyalty bonuses should he see out his four-year contract at Old Trafford. Moreover, the United board have also targeted several names should they sell the left footed star in the coming summer.

While Edinson Paris St Germain is one name being thought off, Bayern Munich’s Thomas Muller is another alternative. Cavani however is also a Chelsea and Arsenal target and will cost an excess of €65m. Moreover should United look to make Radamel Falcao’s loan move permanent in the summer, they will need to pay £44m more to French side AS Monaco. Thus Van Persie would be sold as United will look to raise their budget for funding moves.

However where will be Van Persie’s next destination? While Real Madrid seemed to be interested in the player in the summer, Turkish side Fenerbache were also in the news over the past few months. It is believed that Fenerbache have a decent financial backing and would be able to pay Vna Persie’s wages if he finally decides to make a move.

So what does the future hold for the former Arsenal star? However, before getting any answers to this question, could we see the left footed superstar scoring against his former club tomorrow? Imagine a packed Emirates crowd.
