Manchester United round-up: Mourinho shocker, fresh injury blow and more!

Manchester United had a decent start under Jose Mourinho at the start of the season but the Red Devils have lost their way as they have now lost three games in a row.  The three losses mean that this is the first time Jose Mourinho has lost three games consecutively in 14 years when he last had three defeats at Porto in 2002.

The manager is keen to keep his side focused as they lock horns with Northampton in League Cup on Wednesday. Here we look all the stories around Manchester United today.

Manchester United young forward Anthony Martial is on the way to recovery after suffering an injury during their clash against Watford last weekend.

The Frenchman took to twitter on Tuesday to announce his recovery as he tweeted, “Feel much better today. Thanks for all your support and your messages.”

After their 3-1 defeat to Watford, Mourinho said: “I didn’t know why he came off, whether he was injured in his knee, his ankle or his head.

“I don’t know. I just know, in that moment, he is not in a condition to carry on. I don’t know why. I just know I had to change. I don’t know yet what happened.”

Manchester United are eyeing a January move for Real Madrid attacking midfielder Isco. The Spaniard has failed to make any progress at the club as he is not able to break into the first team.

The 24-year old has so far managed a mere 83 minutes in the season and is expected to force a move in January. Arsenal and Tottenham are also strongly interested in the player and could rival United.

Arsenal are keen to sign Manchester United outcast Phil Jones in January as Wenger is keen on the talented full-back.

The 24-year old is yet to make an appearance under Mourinho as Antonio Valencia is considered as the primary option and Italian defender Matteo Darmian is also above Jones in the pecking order.

Manchester United defender Luke Shaw has a minor groin tear and could be out of action for the next few days.

The 21-year old is definitely ruled out of their EFL cup clash against Northampton and could be a doubt for Leicester City match at Old Trafford this weekend.

Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has revealed that the Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho was not close to the players when the team loses in an interview to Spanish media outlet Marca.

‘(Mourinho) works a lot on tactical aspects and is also a winner,’ the Belgian told Marca.

‘He normally gets close to players, but when results don’t go his way, like last season at Chelsea, you could feel there was a certain distance.’
