Manchester United have not been able to find any kind of consistency this season and the vast number of injuries to the squad has seen the club look into the January transfer window for some replacements.
The biggest problem for United at the moment would be to keep hold of David de Gea for the next season. With Real Madrid knocking on the door, it is understood that the Red Devils have already eyed a replacement for the Spaniard.
Attracting interest from some big clubs in Europe, Mattia Perin is supposedly on the transfer wish list of the Old Trafford franchise and it is understood that Manchester United are sending scouts to watch the 23 year old.
The Genoa shot stopper has become of the best keepers in Serie A and has already been made aware of the interest from the English club by Italy national team mate Matteo Darmian during their last outing with the national squad.
It is reported that Manchester United have sent a scout to watch the shot stopper up close in Sunday’s match between Genoa and Hellas Verona at the Bentegodi Stadium in Italy.
United have already made contact with the player last summer when De Gea was all set to leave for Spain but with the move to Spain nearing, Perin might be at Old Trafford sooner than expected.
However, Real Madrid has been slapped a two window ban from buying any players and they will have to overturn the ruling if they are to lay their hands on United’s no.1 next summer.
Manchester United rivals Liverpool were strongly linked with a move for Perin last season. Will David de Gea move out of United and be replaced by Mattia Perin?
