Injury Update: Manchester United star striker a major doubt for Manchester Derby

Manchester United have suffered a huge blow before their all-important derby clash against Manchester City after their new signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan was forced off during the first half of Armenia’s friendly with the Czech Republic.
The Armenian international was involved in a nasty off-the-ball collision with Marek Sukhy and was withdrawn in the first half of the match due to precautionary measures.
The 27-year old former Borussia Dortmund has made a slow start to his United career and is yet to start for the Red Devils but has been tipped to make an impact at Old Trafford. However, he made a big impact against Hull City in United’s last league match after coming off the bench, helping them bag all the three points.
United boss Jose Mourinho admitted earlier this week that he was worried about how his players would return from international duty.
“We keep eight outfield players and Sam Johnstone as the goalkeeper. We are going to lose the others and we don’t know the way they train, the way they recover, the life they are going to have with their national teams,” Mourinho told MUTV.
Mourinho will be hoping that the injury is not that bad and he continues his winning streak in the league.
Belgium international Marouane Fellaini is another big worry for United after he suffered a back injury in United’s win at Hull.
Meanwhile, Manchester City have a bigger worry for themselves as their star striker Sergio Aguero is a major doubt for the derby after being charged with elbowing West Ham’s Winston Reid.
