Manchester United Starlet Set For Yet Another Pay Rise At The End Of The Season

England skipper Wayne Rooney saved his side from the blushes at Stoke this weekend scoring in stoppage time to rescue a point for his side on a historic night for the forward.

His equaliser helped him surpass Sir Bobby Charlton as the highest goal scorer for the club in the history of the domestic league, helping himself into brackets of some of the greatest.

Though that goal makes him a club legend, Jose Mourinho is not going to stop him from moving out of the club, especially with a couple of Chinese Super League outfits ready to make him the highest earner in the world.

But the Manchester United manager is surely taking the future of English international Marcus Rashford this month.

The 19-year old broke into the first team under Louis van Gaal at the club and is touted as the replacement for Wayne Rooney for club and country.

He was a regular in the first team at the start of the season but Jose Mourinho revealed late last year that he lost some of his focus, leaving him with no option but to drop him from the first team.

However, everything is back to normal as the youngster is putting in the hard efforts in training and Mourinho is now determined to keep him at the club for a long time.

The English striker signed a contract to keep him at the Old Trafford till 2020 jut last summer, in a deal which earns him £20,000-a-week. It is understood that the player has a number of bonuses in his contract that can see him earn double his current wages, depending on his performances.

And reports from the Sun suggest that Rashford is in for another pay rise at the end of the season.

An Old Trafford source said: “Rashford is in-line for another rise next season, on top of his current wages.

“Part of the agreement on that deal was an increase over the duration, along with another year option to extend.”

The contract of the 19-year old allows Manchester United to extend his contract a further year and Jose Mourinho is full intent on doing it.

It is understood that Rashford will get a pay rise of £5,000-a-week after every season and that the club is making sure that his feet are grounded.

“We want to keep his feet on the ground, he’s just a young lad. He’s moving up the pay scale very fast,” the source said.

“A yearly increase of around £5,000-a-week is on the cards. He’s a very talented player and we want to make sure he’s OK,” they added.

It is also revealed that the player and his family have moved to a new Cheshire mansion, and is expected to stay in Manchester for years to come.

Do you think Marcus Rashford should stay in Manchester or look for options in Europe?
