Sergio Ramos’s future at Santiago Bernabeu has been a major speculation in the football world in the recent weeks.

Earlier this month, as per Spanish media, Ramos revealed that he wants to leave the 10 time UEFA Champions League winners this season as he was not happy with the club’s treatment towards him.

After spending 10 seasons at the club, Ramos demanded a contract worth €10m a year, but the club decided to offer him €7m.

He has entered the last 2 years of his contract with Madrid and now it seems that he wants to leave the club this season itself.

Manchester United boss Louis Van gaal was in search of a defender who can lead the defence line and Ramos’s situation made them interested in the former World Cup winner.

The only problem regarding the transfer is that Real Madrid have reportedly asked for a mammoth sum of €90 million for selling the defender.

Though Louis van Gaal is ready to spend heavy amount but such huge transfer fee for a 29 year-old sounds a bit impractical.

The situation got more interesting as Real Madrid want David De Gea from Old Trafford to take the gloves at Bernabeu next season but both the clubs are playing hard ball and the transfer saga is getting elongated by the day.

Spanish media AS today published an interview of the ball playing defender.

Here is what he said:

“I am not negotiating with anyone.” Sergio Ramos, with a very serious gesture, was categoric when the journalist asked him “how are the negotiations going?”

The defender, who attended a wedding in Los Palacios (Seville), was blunt when answering that question, but he did not answer when he was asked “are you going to stay at Real Madrid?” The centre-back kept his silence.

Before that, he had merely said: “All is very well”, always with a straight face. In this way, the centre-back did not confirm whether he is going to be at Real Madrid next season, and his response of “I am not negotiating with anyone” has a double meaning: it means that he is not negotiating with another club over a move away from Real Madrid, but it also means that he is not in talks regarding his contract renewal at the Bernabéu.
