Louis van Gaal has had one of the worst times in his stellar career at Manchester United and is yet to taste a victory in a cup final.

He has just not been able to make the team play fluid football but to his defense he has never been able to settle into a consistent line-up amidst the injury crisis at the club this season.

Luke Shaw’s season ending injury early in the season started a trend that is still being followed by the squad with Wayne Rooney and David de Gea as the most recent causalities in the crisis.

As many as 14 players were not available for Van Gaal for the game against Shrewsbury  in the FA Cup and though they were able to win the game, the manager has now identified the need for some back up for the rest of the season.

With Arsenal visiting next weekend and plenty of other important games to come in the next few weeks, Manchester United are considering recalling James Wilson from a loan spell.

According to reports, James Wilson who is on loan at Brighton might be on his way back to Old Trafford in the next 48 hours.

The injuries to Wayne Rooney and now more recently Will Keane have left United with Anthony Martial as the only recognized striker and The Daily Star reported that Wilson might be an option for the Old Trafford franchise.

The 20-year old who joined Championship high-flyers Brighton, has played 12 games for his side so far this season finding the net on three occasions.

Though the manager recently explained that he is not willing to call back Wilson from his loan spell, an insider has revealed that the Dutchman might change his mind in the wake of the recent injuries.

Cameron Borthwick-Jackson and Jesse Lingard also picked up knocks in the win against Shrewsbury and the Manchester United squad now looks out of depth.

The manager also lamented the number of injuries to his side and felt that his side have been unlucky.

“It is unbelievable because [in addition to Keane] I have taken Borthwick-Jackson off because he was injured and Jesse Lingard was struggling towards the end too,” he said.

They will need all the help they can get and Wilson’s loan spell might just have come to an end. However, this leaves the club struggling for the rest of the season with Van Gaal’s chances at the club sliding down.
