According to a report from The Guardian, Manchester United are ready to place an improved €100million offer for Bayern Munich star forward Thomas Muller in an attempt to lure the player away from Allianz Arena.
Louis van Gaal has reinsisted his desire to strengthen his attack and are ready to land Muller as the surprise signing the manager is speaking of recently. The Red Devils have placed an €80m (£55.7m) bid for the German international which Bayern Munich rejected as they have already lost Bastian Schweinsteiger to the former.
The Red Devils are also ready to offer Muller a massive salary which is expected to be €20m a year (£13.7m). This is around £265,000 a week, around double what he earns at the German champions from the five-year contract signed last summer.
Muller is identified as a key target as he fits perfectly in van Gaal’s proposed 4-3-3 formation for next season. On top of all, Muller has always hailed van Gaal despite the manager getting sacked by Bayern back in 2011.
van Gaal gave Muller a string of first team appearences back in 2009 which helped him break into the first team at bayern Munich. The player shares a special relationship with van Gaal and given his uneven relationship with Pep, the transfer is well on the cards.
However, Bayern is a club with the best financial status in entire Europe and might not even get tempted for a €100m as they look for Eurpean success after their losses in Champions League semi-finals in the last two seasons.
