The wait is finally over. After a break of two months the most watched and arguably the best league in the world is back in action. Twenty times champions Manchester United take on North London giants Tottenham Hotspur in a high voltage opening game of the season.

As expected Louis van Gaal has left out David De Gea of the 18 man squad. Newest recruit Sergio Romero will start as the first choice custodian. United’s biggest signing Bastian Schweinsteiger too has been left out on the bench. Carrick and Morgan Schneiderlin will start in the lineup.

Memphis Depay will start in the starting XI just behind Wayne Rooney with Ashley Young and Juan Mata on either of the flanks.
