English giants Mancheter United are all set to make a 2nd bid for Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin after Soton rejected the 1sts offer of £20m for the Frenchman.
Manager van Gaal intends on adding the Frenchman to his roaster before the pre-season tour of U.S.A on 13 July which leaves Man United with only 10 days to wrap up the deal before the 4-game trip.
Last season’s 13 points from the opening 10 matches for Manchester United will be expected not to be repeated by the United manager and with the UCL qualification round to be played mid-August the midfielder’s addition will be a huge boast for the side.
Executive vice-chairman of Manchester United, Ed Woodward has told the manager that United need to put up a serious challenge for the title next season. For this the Dutchman wants to strengthen the team with at the least 1 midfielder, a right-back and possible a new striker as fellow country man Robin van Persie is set to leave the club.
The opening fixture with Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford is just over a week after United return from the US.
Although Soton hope to make sure that Schneiderlin is sold around the £30m range, Manchester United have faith that they can acquire him for around 5m lesser and around the £25m mark. If Soton continue to block the deal there are reports that Schneiderlin could himself consider taking some direct action.
Last summer, the player went onto social media and tweeted his anger when the club refused to sell him to Tottenham Hotspur and also admitted that he considered going on strike in revolt.
