Europe’s most wanted attacking midfielder, Marco Reus is set to sign a new deal if the latest reports from Germany are to be believed. The midfielder is expected to leave Dortmund this summer with Dortmund battling to stay out of relegation zone in Bundesliga. However, much to the surprise of everyone Reus is considering his future at Dortmund beyond 2017.
Arsenal, Bayern, Real Madrid and a host of big clubs like Chelsea and Manchester United are waiting for summer transfer window to activate his release clause which is expected to be around 25 million euros. Dortmund made maximum efforts to keep the star player at Signal Iduna Park and their efforts are paying off. However, Dortmund’s CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke declined to comment on the talks.He said, ” We have put all our cards on the table, the ball is now in Marco’s field”. “We have our limits and Marco knows that”, Watzke said about the alleged Real Madrid offer.
On monday, local radio station named “Dortmund 91.2″ said,”BVB were able to make noticeable progress in the contract talks with Reus’ agency”. During the weekend, Reus helped Dortmund to lift them from bottom place in Bundesliga by scoring a goal in their 3-0 victory against SC Freiburg. Reports suggest that if everything goes accordingly, the new contract can be offered by the end of February.
