Liverpool have won 2-1 in their second pre season friendly against Brisbane Roar just moments ago.

The previous friendly was against Thai All Stars at Bangkok where the Reds won 4-0 with goals from Lazar Markovic, Mamadou Sakho, Adam Lallana and Divock Origi.

The Reds started against Brisbane roar with a strong line up of Simon Mignolet, Nathaniel Clyne, Martin Skrtel, Mamadou Sakho, Joe Gomez, Lucas Leiva, Jordan Henderson, James Milner, Adam Lallana, Danny Ings and Divock Origi.

Liverpool started the game decently but in the 18th minute Dimitri Petratos scored for the Australian side to give the underdogs a lead of 1-0.

Adam Lallana equalised for the Merseyside giants on 28 minutes which was assisted by the new signing James Milner.

18 year old Joe Gomez impressed at left back position which is the most positive thing for the Reds. The central defender is a new signing at Liverpool from Charlton but his display on both right back and left back in back to back weeks really impressed the Kops.

Danny Ings and Divock Origi missed chances to score on numerous occasions.

Dimitri Petratos was brilliant for the A-League outfit, scoring one and denied by the cross bar on one occasion.

Brisbane’s goalkeeper Young looked like a wall under the bar, denying Liverpool the lead on plenty of occasions.

Liverpool took the lead as some sloppy play from Brisbane led to Milner driving towards the edge of the box, and his shot eventually drifted over Young’s head via a deflection which gave Liverpool a lead after 75 minutes.

Milner will get his confidence boosted after his first goal in Liverpool kit and also providing an assist.

Liverpool will next play Adelaide United on 20th July, Malaysia Xi on 24th July and HJK Helsinki on 1st August.
