Delhi Dynamos defeated FC Pune City thanks to Gustavo Marmentini’s strike in the 88th minute the visitors grabbed all the three crucial points and jump to the fourth spot in the Indian Super League.

FC Pune City’s line up remained the same without any changes. Dynamos made two changes in the starting line-up by dropping Dinis Oliviera and Souvik Chakraborthy and introducing Shylo Malsawmtluanga and Bruno Arias.

The first chance of the match came in the 16th minute when Junker hit the ball wide which was sent in brilliantly by Marmentini’s corner.

The home side had their first attempt on the goal when Park received a through-ball on the right. But a wonderful tackle in time by defender Adil Khan stopped the South Korean before he could do something.

Delhi Dynamos had to make an urgent substitution when Arias was replaced by Dinis Oliviera.

The visitor’s minutes later faced a big chaos, when they were not able to clear the ball out of their own box and Pennant took advantage by intercepting the ball. The Englishman then crossed the ball to Dudu in the right who tried to pass it to Park but the ball was cleared out.

In the 35th minute Junker passed the ball to Marmentini who with his pace passed away two defenders and shot straight to the goal, luckily the goal keeper fisted it away in time.

Pune missed two quick chances to take the lead. Pennant took a shot at goal and it just hit inside of the post and bounced out to be cleared away for a corner. Later Dudu had a clear chance to score the goal but missed by hitting it straight on van Hout.

The visitors started the second half much better than Pune City by having control on possession.

In the 53rd minute Junker found Shylo who received the ball and went past a defender with only the goalkeeper to beat. But Malswamtluanga shot went straight to the Pune City’s goalkeeper.

Katsouranis missed the best goal scoring opportunity for Pune City in the 69th minute when Park sent in a sublime ball to unmarked Kostas in the box. But the Greek midfielder who was just 10 yards away missed the goal scoring chance.

In the 77th minute Pennant received a ball from Saidou and set the ball for Dudu who sent the ball over the bar.

Gustavo emerged as a hero for the visitors when he scored the only goal of the match in the 88th minute. Marmentini after beating Ravanan and Arindam scored from a very tight angle.

Delhi Dynamos have managed to gain back their form in the recent performances. After defeating FC Pune City, Dynamos with 17 points in 13 matches are now on the fourth position of Indian Super League.
