It was expected to be a very highly intense game, to say the least, as the two north London clubs, Arsenal and Tottenham faced off at White Hart Lane on Saturday afternoon. It was quite an important game with respect to the title race and neither side wanted to drop any points on the night. The game started with the hosts dominating possession and play, as Arsene Wenger’s side were once again rather quiet. However, it was the Gunners who initially managed to take the lead, as a quick attack resulted in Hector Bellerin releasing Aaron Ramsey for a superb flick finish towards the 40-minute mark. The visitors went into the break with a slender advantage over Spurs and a half left to play.
Despite that, things did not go as per plan for the French manager and his team, who were looking to get back into the title race and lost Francis Coquelin to a stupid challenge on
striker Harry Kane picking up a second yellow card and being sent off. Few minutes later, Toby Alderweireld, an unlikely goalscorer equalized at the hour mark. Kane scored a wonder goal a couple of minutes later to make it 2-1. Just when it looked that it was going to be one of those nights for Wenger’s side, Alexis Sanchez managed to make it 2-2 on the 76th minute to salvage a point for his side with a well-taken finish. The game ended in a draw, with Leicester City the eventual winners on the night.
