Muller fuels Gotze rumors, admits he is not happy at Bayern

Over the last decade, one of the most successful clubs in Europe, Liverpool, have lost all their goodwill as a top class team in Europe and has lose its identity in the process.

The Merseyside franchise in the last two years has been finding it hard to even get a place in Europe and have not been able to maintain consistency in the domestic league leaving them playing in the Europe league.

This has not helped the club in the transfer windows as they have not been able to lure top class talent to the club. The lack of European football has also seen a number of players leave the club in recent time including the likes of Suarez and Raheem Sterling.

But the appointment of the new manager Jurgen Klopp might just help the club get back to its best not just on the field but also in other areas.

For the first time in a long time, the Anfield outfit is linked with a top class forward who is close to making the switch to England.

The scorer of the World Cup winner a couple of years ago, Mario Gotze, has been linked with a move to Anfield this summer and it is expected that Klopp will have a role to play in getting the player to sign for the club.

The 23-year old broke into the Bundesliga’s best under Jurgen Klopp at Borussia Dortmund before making the move to the Allianz Arena three years ago. However, he has not been able to find a place in the starting XI and has started just 5 games this season for the German franchise.

This has led to rumors that he is not happy with his situation at the club and wants to move out of the club at the end of this season.

Fellow team-mate Thomas Muller recently admitted that Gotze is not happy with his current situation and is looking to move on.

“I’ve talked to Mario, of course we’ve talked in the dressing room and I fully appreciate that he might not be satisfied at Bayern Munich,” Muller said.

However, Muller refused to open up about a possible Liverpool link and explained that he wants Gotze to play for Bayern for years to come.

“As far as him signing for another club is concerned, I’m not his advisor or his agent so I would wish for him to stay at Bayern Munich,” he added.

Liverpool are set to off-load Christian Benteke and on-loan forward Mario Balotelli this summer and are keen on re-uniting the German duo of Klopp and Gotze at Anfield.

They will however be in a race with the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United also looking into the 23-year old for a potential transfer this summer.

Gotze has just an year left in his contract with the club and a move in January is not what the club wants. Thus the forward is all but set to leave the club and if Liverpool can splash the big bucks, Gotze may well help Klopp in his promise of brining the league title to Anfield.
