In what comes as shocking news in the Premier League, former Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic is eyeing a move back to the Premier League this January.
According to the Daily Mail, Vidic is keen on playing in the Premier League again and it is understood that he is offered to the bottom placed Aston Villa.
The former Manchester United center back was in contract with Italian side Inter Milan but terminated it with mutual consent earlier this week. Vidic has not made a single appearance for the Serie A club this season.
Aston Villa are in a spot of bother at the center back area with Joleon Lescott reportedly considering offers from China and the United States. They are eyeing Bordeaux’s defender Lamine Sane but reportedly fear that they might miss out on him and have lined Vidic as a suitable option.
Vidic himself has been linked with a move to the MLS in the United States and might be the right direction for the 34-year-old who has had little to no match practice.
However, Villa will pursue with the move after checking his fitness levels and if the move does come through, they will surely have a very experienced center back in their ranks.
Remi Garde will need all the experience he can get to take his team out of the relegation scrap this season but it will not be easy for the Villains to come to safety with just 16 matches left in the Premier League.
Does Vidic have it in him to come back to the Premier League?
