Fabio Borini, remember him? The Italian striker is still on the books of Liverpool football club despite playing only handful number of games this season. After a horror season at Anfield, Borini has emerged as a surprise target for the Serie A outfits, Lazio.
Lazio have enjoyed a rather successfully season in the Serie A by competing for the third place with only 3 games left. Lazio have Miroslav Klose as their leading striker at the moment but the club wants someone with fresh legs to lead their attack next season.
Lazio see Fabio Borini as the ideal striker option who refused to join QPR and Sunderland earlier in the season to fight for his place under Brendan Rodgers. With 18 appearances and just 1 goal, Borini’s ambitions have died quicker than he had expected.
Liverpool have valued Borini at £12 million and Lazio will have to meet their asking price to sign the Italian striker from Anfield. Lazio have Manchester United’s striker Javier Hernandez as their other option if their deal for Borini falls through.
Liverpool are still hopeful of signing their key striker target Danny Ings from Burnley. Liverpool are hoping to vacate space for Ings by selling Fabio Borini in the summer.
