Did Not Feel Like Talking To Anyone When Dropped Says Cesc Fabregas

Though Paul Clement’s side has picked up some decent form in the last few games, they were no match for Antonio Conte’s title contenders Chelsea side at the Stamford Bridge this weekend.
Goals from Pedro and Diego Costa sealed the game for the Blues on the night, who moved 10 points clear of the 2nd place in the points table.
But the man of the match for Chelsea on the night was Spanish star, Cesc Fabregas.
The former Barcelona man started the game superbly well, dictating the midfield for his side, and he started off a move that resulted in him finishing the final touches in front goal.
He showed his prowess with a number of path-breaking passes on the night that weaved rings around the Swansea defence.
Conte will be happy that his trust in the midfielder paid off in this game but Fabregas has been extensively linked with an exit at the end of the season.
Conte is looking to add a few midfielders to his squad in the summer transfer window and does not see Fabregas in his long term plans. However, at just 29, the midfielder has a lot of football to offer in the future.
Fabregas was dropped from the first team at the club under Antonio Conte earlier this season and the game against Swansea was just his 6th start in the league this season.
Conte has used him sparsely and in a recent interview with the media, Fabregas opened up about how it felt to be dropped from the first team.
Fabregas, who has 2 goals in the last three games for Chelsea revealed that he did not feel like talking to anyone when he was dropped.
‘In the beginning, when I didn’t play, I told people not even to speak to me because I was really upset,’ he admitted after the 3-1 victory over Paul Clement’s side.
He went on to say that he knows he will have to adjust to the new system under the new manager and revealed that he is working hard to be a useful player for the side this season.
‘I can understand there are doubts with the philosophy of the manager. He came in, wanted to see if I could adapt and I can understand that. I’m someone who wants to play with the ball, maybe not so much the defensive side,’ Fabregas said.
‘But it shows I adapted to the way he wants to play and hopefully, I can play more,’ he added.
With the likes of Inter Milan, AC Milan and Real Madrid linked with a move for the midfielder it will be interesting to see if Conte decides to keep hold of him for another year.
