According to German Bild, Juventus has been given permission by Schalke to discuss terms with star midfielder Julian Draxler. The 21-year is considered as one of the finest young talents in the world and have been a long standing target to Arsenal.
Bild reports that Juve sporting director Fabio Paratici was in Germany on Tuesday, meeting with Draxler’s agent in Berlin. Schalke general manager Heldt said, “Juventus made a written request to be allowed to negotiate with Julian’s agent, and we have agreed to it. We have not yet received an actual offer from Turin, though.”
The two clubs are yet to agree on a final transfer fee for the move. The player has contract with Blues till 2018 and has a release clause of €45 million in his contract which will expire on July 1. The Italian giants are willing to offer €25 million for the player but Schalke wants nothing less than €35m.
The Bianconeri are looking to add more balance to their squad after the likes of Tevez, Vidal and Pirlo left the club after an incredible season. The player’s agent is also confident over the deal.
“It is true that his €45m release clause expired on June 30,” Roger Wittman was quoted as saying byTuttosport.
“This is also the expiry date for the next two seasons as the player has a contract until June 2018. But it is also true that we are in talks with Juventus over a transfer. I think the deal could be concluded for a transfer fee of €25 million.”
Julian Draxler is the academy prduct of Schalke and have made over 100 Bundesliga appearences to the club.
