Earlier in the day reports suggested that the Blues have made a £35 million which was rejected by PSG. The Blues have now agreed fee and other terms with PSG and the deal will be announced once the player undergoes medical and agrees personal terms with the club.
The statement in Chelsea’s official website read: “Chelsea Football Club and Paris Saint-Germain have agreed terms for the transfer of David Luiz back to London.
“The move is now subject to him agreeing personal terms and passing a medical.”
The Blues are in search of a new centre back this summer and have been linked with the likes of Kalidou Koulibaly, Nikola Maksimovic and few others but have turned to their former defender as the deadline day loomed.
Chelsea have now announced the second deal of the day as they have earlier confirmed the signing of Marcos Alonso.
The return of Luiz to Stamford Bridge will give much needed depth to the central defense as they are lacking options in the back-line. Both the players will give new manger Conte more freedom to rotate players when needed.
