Javier Hernandez or Chicharito as he is popularly known as had joined Manchester United in 2010. Due to inconsistent performance and poor show he never became a regular at the club. Last season after Louis van Gaal joined the club as manager the 27-year-old striker was sent on loan to Real Madrid. At Madrid, he was still a bench warmer and hardly got game time. He played a crucial role though in Madrid’s triumph over Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions League quarter-final last season as he had scored the winning goal.
After joining the club, Javier Hernandez said: “Bayer Leverkusen is a great opportunity for me. Here can and I want to achieve a lot!”
The move would perfectly suit the Mexican international as he is due to get regular game time at the Bundesliga side. At the pinnacle of his career, it would have been really bad for the forward if he had to sit out on the bench day in day out.
Manchester United have already found Hernandez’s replacement in French striker Anthony Martial.
