Ibrahimovic wasted no time in making a positive impression on his new colleagues when he arrived complete with his own physio.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic left his new Manchester United team-mates “open-mouthed” when he arrived at the club with his own physiotherapist in tow.
The striker signed a one-year contract with the Red Devils after leaving Paris Saint-Germain this summer, pitching up at the club’s Carrington base in late June after playing for Sweden at Euro 2016.
And Ibrahimovic wasted no time in making a positive impression on his new colleagues, according to Brazilian youngster Andreas Pereira.
“When he arrived, everyone could see that he was a real professional,” Pereira toldGloboEsporte .
“Just by his physical appearance, you can tell he is professional as hell. He just wants to win – he only thinks about football.
“He brought his own physiotherapist with him, to treat him at the club. Everyone was left open-mouthed by that.”
Pereira, who joined Spanish side Granada on a season-long loan deal a fortnight ago, says that Ibrahimovic, plus fellow new faces Jose Mourinho and Paul Pogba, can make United a force again this season.
“Things have changed a fair bit,” the midfielder continued.”Ibra arrived. Pogba arrived and that was a bit strange… it was like he was coming back from a long holiday!
“The new players will help the team a lot. It’s really different since Mourinho’s arrival: everyone is more focused and prepared to play. I think this year Manchester United will create havoc.”
Pereira, who grew frustrated with the lack of first-team opportunities under Louis van Gaal last season, is hoping to catch the eye in La Liga – and says that Mourinho has ensured him that his future lies at Old Trafford.
“Mourinho told me that he likes my style of play a lot and that he liked what I did in pre-season,” the 20-year-old added. “He wants to see how I play in Spain and then wants me to go back and play for him next season.”
